Move Your Mountain

Wellness Group

Most of us know a lot about what we need to do to be healthier, and yet we often don’t it.

Why? Good question!

We can’t tell you the whole reason, but we can say it’s not because you are flawed or have insufficient willpower. That’s really true!

Within the group, you’ll find the most effective and science-based means of achieving your goals, along with encouragement, confidence, and motivation to do what you’ve always wanted to do for your health.

About You

What’s your mountain?

Does moving mountains sound hard? It is if you want to do it all at once.

You may know the saying – people with only a mustard seed of faith will move mountains. Mustard seeds, by the way, are small. It’s the small things that move mountains.

You can start small and with consistent action, you will move your mountain. We’re here to help make that do-able for you.

Whatever your goals may be, will power and heroics are not the answer. Small, smart actions along with consistency and community have all the answers you need.

This is a group coaching opportunity for you to support others, be supported, learn the latest science in wellness, and finally make changes you’ve been wanting to make.

4 weekly group sessions to turn the page. Are you ready?

Wellness Group begins October 10th, 2pm

What’s this group all about?

This group may be for you if you feel you no longer have the energy, time, or interest to become a bikini model, but you may want to feel good in your body and know you’re doing the right things for your health.

We’re not aiming for 15 pounds lost in the first week. We’re aiming for making small changes in how you nurture yourself that will ultimately move the mountain you thought was immovable.

Topics

Areas We’ll Cover

Sleep

Sleep is crucial for health, feels amazing, and yet is elusive and under-appreciated. Any health goal you have will involve high quality sleep. We’ll talk about how and why.

Obstacles

What gets in the way of you doing the right things for your health? We all have ways that we undermine what we want, so let’s find strategies to address these unavoidable obstacles.

Food and Nutrition

Food can be a scary one. Don’t worry! We won’t say you have to starve or eat awful food. Good nutrition often means more flavor and satisfaction. It’s safe to fall in love with food!

Stress

Stress interferes with every health goal you may have, and yet here we are in very stressful times. We’ll explore simple ways to reduce the stress in your body, so you can feel good and navigate your life with more skill.

Movement

You don’t have to go to the gym to be healthy, but you do have to move your body. So, what movement enriches your life? What are your goals for how you want to move?

Habits

Habits are important. Are you a person who brushes their teeth in the morning? That’s a great wellness habit. We can talk about how to create good habits to support your goals.

About Us

Your Group Guides

Hi, I’m Sarah and the facilitator for this group coaching opportunity. I am a certified Integral Coach through New Ventures West (San Francisco) and I am committed to helping people chart their course for becoming more wholly and wonderfully themselves.

In addition to personal development, I have studied nutrition and approaches to wellness for decades. I was motivated at an early age to learn what I could do to thrive through food and alternative healthcare after being told I was “18 going on 80” due to all of my health concerns. I am healthier in my middle age than I was in my 20s, and am grateful for it!

As a coach, I look forward to the opportunity to support you in your journey.

Our experience will be enriched by the contributions of the whole Move Mountains Wellness team! Nate Toney (Wellness Physical Therapist) will join us for conversations on safe, fun movement opportunities that take into account your limitations. Patty Dewey (Counselor in Holistic Nutrition) will provide expert guidance on nutrition and help you navigate your food choices and worries.

Please reach out with questions. sarah@movemountainswellness.co

Is Bacon Really a Good Idea?

Is Bacon Really a Good Idea?

Seems like people doing Paleo eat all the bacon they want. Is that a good idea? Well, that depends on your reason for eating Paleo. If your reason is to provide your body with nutrient dense foods, I’d have to lean towards the answer “No.” Take into consideration the...

What to do if exercise isn’t really your thing

What to do if exercise isn't really your thing?   What if we made it more simple? Exercise is a loaded word, anyway. That's why I prefer to use the word movement. Humans didn't start to “exercise” until maybe the 19th century. Many languages don't even have a...
