What does aging well mean to you?

Aging changes everything, doesn’t it? Our ideals of success shift as our bodies change. Yet our second half of life will likely be the most fruitful as we navigate new priorities, values, relationships, and health realities.

Lifestyle coaching is about navigating these times with an advocate and guide who can help you live a life of aging well, as you define it.

So, what are your goals?

  • Enjoying greater health and well-being?
  • Rediscovering creativity?
  • Improving your relationships and community?
  • Engaging deeper in spirituality?

Hi, I’m Sarah!

I am a certified integral coach through New Ventures West in San Fransisco, CA, where I am also adjunct faculty. I approach coaching through their integral coaching process, which supports clients as they integrate the diverse aspects of their lives into a coherent expression of their values, intentions, and aspirations. This is a process of getting your inside world to match your outside self – all in alignment with your intentions and values.

The process of integral coaching is both practical and deep, as we dive in to discern what really matters to you and then create practical steps towards these goals through practices that you can can put into action right away.

These steps will likely involve food, sleep, and activity, as well as journaling on key questions, meditation, and other activities chosen to help you make a real and lasting shift in your life. After all, we all know there’s only so much time on the planet. Let’s put our years to good use.

Areas of Focus

Food, Sleep, and Movement

This is a sensitive spot for most of us, since most of us don’t do what we know we should to take care of ourselves. However, what we may not know is that even modest changes can have big impact on how we feel in body, mind, and spirit. And the process can be one of added pleasure. Great food, nourishing sleep, and walks with friends are some of the brilliant joys in life and sources of health.

We’ll talk about how to make small steps to make big changes in your well being. Truly, this isn’t about suffering. It’s about adding quality into your life, and not about suffering through restriction.

Relationships

The quality of our lives is truly defined by our relationships, and yet most of us have limited skills to approach the intensity of conflict, intimacy, or vulnerability. Together we’ll work through practical and powerful relationship skills as described in the work of Ronald Short, PhD. Ron has created a foundation of work in relationships that can be applied at home, work, and in the world for much greater skill and relational satisfaction and I’m lucky enough to have him as my stepfather, mentor, and occasional workshop leader here at Move Mountains Wellness.

Meaning, Creativity and Personal Narratives

Deep personal work will be present through all of our work together. How you do anything in your life, including feeding yourself, is the way you approach everything else, even if it’s how you approach cooking dinner. However, we’ll also dig deeper to help you navigate and thrive in this stage in your life. What questions do you have? What goals? Are you experiencing the meaning you want in this moment? Are you giving the gifts you have to provide the world? Are you deeply enjoying the gifts of your life? No coach in the world will have these answers, but I’m here to help with deeper questions, reflections, and actions to point you further down your road of discovery.

Are you ready to make some real changes that last?

Food

Why food? Almost everyone has a complicated relationship with food and it is a vitally important part of our well-being. Our sense of well-being is more impacted by food than most of us know. By making changes in food, even small ones, you can move towards a greater vitality right away.

Relationships

The quality of our lives has everything to do with the quality of our relationships, and yet most of us have room to grow in our relationship skills. For the most part, we’re not taught how to navigate conflict or even settle into intimacy. Together, we’ll practice concrete relationships skills to enhance every aspect of your life.

Movement and Sleep

The quality of our lives have everything to do with quality sleep, and yet the majority of American adults are sleep deprived. In addition, movement has a huge impact on physical and emotional health. Together we can work towards health habits to help you feel great in your body.

Your Personal Narratives

We all look at the world through different lenses and beliefs. We can see the world as essentially friendly or hostile. We can see ourselves as damaged or whole. These lenses impact the quality of our lives. We can also challenges these lenses to open ourselves up to great well-being.

Spirituality

Questions of spirituality, in the context of life coaching, has less to do with what you believe than how you are living out your beliefs in your life. What are your values? How do you see yourself in the context of the world? What is your role? These are some of the questions we’ll explore together.

Your Personal Narratives

Creativity and Expression

How do you want to be active in the world? Is there important work you feel you have yet to explore or express? What about your creativity? What gets in the way and how can you move forward?

What Others Are Saying

“Eternally Grateful”

Sarah helped me consciously go through the process of making a major decision and transition in my life. She helped me stay grounded during the process and explore the many aspects of my emotions, subconscious patterns and beliefs, which were impacting me. These included seeing roadblocks that weren’t real and other limiting thoughts. She helped me make these life changes from a perspective of what was my truth and vision for my life, versus the expectations of others and general societal norms.

As a result, I was able to embrace and transition through much change and came out of it with new perspectives and opportunities that I didn’t know were possible. I am eternally grateful and have also made a wonderful friend. If you want to get to the core of your truth and create a life that is better than you could have possibly imagined, Sarah can help you get there!
